I am tired but I enjoyed the other day. I got up early and went to the bank and grocery shopping. Have you ever been craving down home cooking? I mean like that bomb macaroni and cheese, turkey wings, and collard greens. As I cruised down the aisles to collect the items for what my older sis calls "celebration food", I smiled on the inside and out. It was like a drug I had been waiting on for a long time...ok maybe I am overdoing it (O-d-in), but hey I am being honest. :-) So then I buy the food from two grocery stores, Publix and Kroger. The whole entire time while I am shopping, I am also hoping that my dog, Prince, does not turn my apartment into a zoo. I left him out to see how he can handle freedom, because Prince + crate = psycho. Oh yes!
So then when I get home, I realize I have my work cut out for me. I wanted to grade papers, wash clothes, and cook dinner. Then on top of that, my mom says she and my baby sis are coming over. So the mild junkiness in my apartment has elevated into an eye sore. So now I have to clean up the den where I prowl...LOL. Seriously it needed to be cleaned. It was getting out of control for me. I cook and clean. Grade cheese, aching muscles in my arm as if I have been working on the railroad like John Henry. But who understands...nobody but the cheese. Not even Prince offered to grade the sharp cheese which was the toughest. O-C (out of control).
So my mom and baby sis shows up and only the collard greens and macaroni are finished. My mom is like why, why, yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I know I should have put those turkey wings in two hours ago. But it is truly the stove's fault...lol. I plead the 5th. My fiance gets to the house and we enjoy the turkey wings because my family had to leave because of school in the morning. We ate, he cleaned, then we watched "The Orphan." Totally disturbing movie...but hey check it out. I lain in the bed and prayed that the phone tree would be in effect, but the sky does not seem to cry twice the same amount of water or time. It was great while it lasted but the storm is truly over.
